A commuter in a deserted London underground station corridor.
When I think of street photography I see many sub-genres within it.
Some photographers shove their camera up people's noses, some ask permission, some don't, some like cheesy street photography...
My favourite is definitely one in black and white with a single person in the shot, I try avoid busy scenes or colourful distractions, that way the viewer can focus solely on the focal point which is that silhouette in the distance. Where are they headed? I maintains a certain mystery.
I think my London landscape photography background resurfaces when I try limit the number of people in my shots. In my early years as a photographer I would go out of bed at 5am on a Sunday, grab a night bus and aim to capture places with nobody in my shots.
People ruin shots more often than not. Odd thing to say as a street photographer right?
I also love flowing lines and although, more often than not, lines clash, at times with a bit of patience and a few steps in the right direction... they flow perfectly.
