Stoke Newington Pub Lunch // London Street Photography
I’m missing a good pub lunch. I know it’s only Monday but if you told me we’re headed for a pub lunch and a good pint I’d be up for it… immediately.
I’m lucky that we are a family of true foodies. I’m not talking of foodies as some call themselves and yet never cook anything… no… in my family we all cook. It’s due mostly to the fact we are of French origins. So we cook a delicious meal and more often than not during that meal our main subject of conversation is food and what we will have at the next meal.
It’s not gluttony but rather instead a love for the art of cookery. The love of good ingredients and an understanding that good needn’t mean expensive.
When I was a teen I decided that I’d become a chef and went to cookery school at 14 until I was 19. I was young and had to leave the family home to study an 100km away. I never went back home to live there full time.
It’s strange as although I had to very quickly become a man and learn life fast-track, I also never accepted that to become an adult you have to stop being a child.
It is possible to be a grown-up without taking yourself too seriously.
Anyway… all this to say I love food and good ingredients and I cannot wait for spring to arrive and grow my own veg and fruit.
Until next time,
Nico
