"We live in a rainbow of chaos." 🌈 Paul Cézanne
This photo was shot in Southwark, a slightly longer handheld exposure to capture movement and expose the motion of the subject. Definitely one of my best sellers over the years.
The last copy I sold was from a father to his son who had studied my work for his GCSEs. I hand delivered it and he asked me if I would sign it.
These encounters make what I do so rewarding (even if not necessarily financially)
When we think of Street photography more often than not we think in black and white. I am guilty of defaulting to it myself, after all, shooting in black and white captures drama and mood in its own special way. However, shooting London Street photography in colour has acted as my visual diary of real life in London. I observe the city, the Londoners around me and capture what others may just dismiss or not even notice.
It can be beautiful, serendipitous, funny, sad and sometimes downright absurd. It’s all about catching it at the right time.
Do you prefer black and white street photography or colour?
