Punk Pigeons // London Street Photography
This photo was shot on the Embankment in London. In fact a lady was standing there and they were her pets. She’d given them a makeover. Apparently, she assured me, the paint isn’t toxic or harmful to them.
It certainly must affect their popularity among other pigeons, what do you think? In a good way or a bad way?
This is London right? This is why I shoot London and Londoners and… pigeons I guess. You just never know what’s around the corner, just be always ready to capture it.
I hope this photo will have made you smile, if not, don’t take it out on me… I simply document.
I actually exhibited this shot among a dozen others a couple of years ago.
I’d been hired by ASUS to shoot a whole set of London street photography using their latest phone and the photos were to be exhibited at the W Hotel in Barcelona during the big mobile show they have there every year.
To begin with I nearly forgot the prints at the security check in Gatwick and came back running like a maniac who’d forgotten his child.
Not the best start right?
Then during the exhibition I had to do a talk to a majority of Chinese guests who for the most didn’t speak English.
Oh the fun memories. But overall it was a great success and my first solo exhibition abroad.
There’s plenty more where this came from so why not visit my dedicated gallery featuring a decade of London street photography?

Until next time.
