Banksy "Girl Blowing Bubbles On Slide" 2008 Hackney // London Street Art 💛
It was my love for both graffiti and underground techno parties which first attracted me to Hackney around 1999, it was quite different back then.
Ever since I seemed to always find a reason to come back, photography being the main culprit.
Street Art and Graffiti are what motivated me initially to explore London, every corner, every street, every nook and cranny, every tunnel looking for new ephemeral pieces. I had to find them or soon... they’d be gone.
Eventually, I discovered that there was a lot of excitement to be had from photography itself exploring the city, you just never know what’s around the corner but you look forward to it and capturing the unexpected.
It becomes like a drug, you want more (and if you are not careful you can end up spending a lot of money... on cameras and lenses). A good shot satisfies the urge and you can go home. Until the need creeps up again 📸
You can see plenty more London street art by Banksy and less famous but just as good street and graffiti artists I captured over the years in my dedicated gallery:

I have also written a few blogs on the subject including this one:

Until next time.
